WILDLIFEGISTS MOURNS THE DEATH OF AN ICON

Marcel Ngangou

A defender of wildlife and the advocate of conservation, Marcel Ngangou has reportedly died through a brief illness. Marcel won the 2019 African Ranger Award, which recognizes and supports the achievements and efforts of forest rangers who are addressing the precipitous decline of Africa's wildlife because of poaching, habitat loss, and illegal trade in wildlife. He has served in several capacities to promote wildlife conservation in Africa. We mourn with WCS on the loss of an Icon. May God give his family the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss. Marcel always said "the protection of wildlife is a commitment we accepted to serve the future generation"
